Yeah, you can get pads that will begin vaporizing at higher temperatures, but material science will only get you so far for the $100 or so you'll spend for them. It ultimately comes down to the rotor itself, which also isn't built from space-age material of which you wouldn't spend a fortune on anyway. A larger rotor gives you three great advantages: Since it is larger, leverage works to your advantage. Since it is larger, you have more surface area to distribute the heat into which means it wont get as hot as quickly. Since it is larger, it will dissipate the heat quicker. I've tried a lot of different things and nothing compares to a larger rotor.
